Our Mission

The Christian Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) is a non-profit organisation that positions the Church as first responders to their local communities in times of crisis when the need extends further than the spiritual.

CERF allows for local churches to be at the forefront of local and national disaster responses without having to be an expert in such responses or needing to manage the operations and supply chain. Churches simply need to make themselves available and engage as resource, infrastructure and distribution partners. The programme expertise, supply chain management and integrity of implementation are ensured by our partner, International NGO, Joint Aid Management, founded by Ubuntu Award-winning South Africans Peter and Ann Pretorius in 1984, that reaches over 1.3 million daily beneficiaries in South Africa and six other African countries.
